| Carl
Zeiss NTS and SII NanoTechnology
announce global strategic alliance on
Nanotechnology Solutions
|
|
| Tokyo,
16.03.2006.
|
| Carl Zeiss
Nano Technology Systems (NTS), a
division of Carl Zeiss SMT, and SII
NanoTechnology (SIINT), a subsidiary of
Seiko Instruments Inc., today jointly
announced a global strategic alliance in
the electron and ion- beam systems,
service and solutions market. This is a
further step to jointly becoming the
global leader for enabling
nanotechnology solutions. Already in
January 2006, SIINT started to sell and
service Carl Zeiss NTS products in
Japan.
|
|
| Subject of
the alliance is the joint development of
market leading systems and application
solutions which will allow for new and
innovative applications in
nanotechnology and semiconductor process
control solutions. Moreover, the two
companies will mutually combine their
products and solutions portfolio
comprising Scanning and Transmission
Electron Microscopes (SEM / TEM),
Focused Ion Beam (FIB) systems and XRF
(X-Ray Fluorescent) systems for
nanoscopic imaging, analysis and
measurement. The global sales, service
and application support presence of the
two technology leaders will enable
customers for one-stop purchase of
integrated nanotechnology solutions. Of
special value to customers will be the
established and long-term geographical
focus and strength of Carl Zeiss NTS and
SII NanoTechnology in the western
hemisphere and Asia, respectively.

FEI ends support agreement with Carl
Zeiss |
|
| As from the
1st of march 2006 FEI Terminated their
exclusive agency agreement with Carl
Zeiss South Africa.
|
|
| As Anaspec
had an exclusive outsourcing agreement
with Carl Zeiss South Africa to support
the FEI equipment on their behalf,
Anaspec will no longer be involved in
new installations on FEI equipment due
to this new change.
|
|
| Anaspec has
contractual agreements with clients
using FEI equipment, including some new
installs sold by Carl Zeiss in the past
months, which we will fulfill. |
|
| At this
stage Anaspec will continue to accept
FEI support calls, but not as the
official FEI support in South Africa.
There is also no intention to work with
the new FEI agent on the support of FEI
equipment. Anaspec has taken this
opportunity of the agency change, to
stop the political position it was in,
whereby we were officially supporting
two competing products.
|
|
| Anaspec has
chosen to focus on the Carl Zeiss range
of products and the international
support of application specific
equipment like Qemscan and Jetscan.
|
|
| Anaspec has
also started to branch into other areas
such as metal detectors used in food
quality control systems and the Carl
Zeiss Industrial measurement systems.
This means that we have not had to loose
any technicians to this agency change.

Anaspec and Taratec
|
|
| Anaspec has
singed up a new support agreement with
Taratec to assist with the support of
the Sartorius product range. This allows
Anaspec to get more exposure to
industrial clients and broaden its
support to other areas.
|
|
|
|
|
Anaspec and Carl Zeiss IMT
|
|
|
From the 1st of august 2005 Anaspec will
be supporting Carl Zeiss South Africa on
their IMT product range. This means that
Anaspec has started to branch out into
more industrial technical support and
not just optics.
|
|
| IMT is the
industrial measurement product range
used mainly in the automotive industry.
The technology encompasses robotics,
software and application knowledge. just
the sort of equipment that suits
Anaspec's style of professional support
to professional companies.
|
|
| Training of
engineers has started with the ultimate
aim of having 2 engineers fully trained
by June 2006.

10 years of support |
|
| Yes, it's
been ten years since Anaspec was
founded. |
|
| The day was
celebrated at Heia Safari Ranch, as a
family day for all the kids to get to
see Africa and the adults to enjoy a
great braai, a beer or 5 and the
wonderful African outdoors, that we so
seldom actually appreciate these days.
|
|
| We would
like to thank all those who made it a
success and for all those who sent their
best wishes for the day.

In June 2008 Carl Zeiss South Africa
acquired 51% of Anaspec as part of the
plan to have Anaspec work closer with
the Carl Zeiss company.

also throughout the African continent
making use of Anaspec’s experience in
efficient international technical
support.
Anaspec now manages all the Carl Zeiss
